Wings of Hope to Host Spring in the Garden for Cancer Patients and Care Partners May 11

COUNCIL BLUFFS – Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center will host Spring in the Garden - an afternoon of free rejuvenation and relaxation services for cancer patients and care partners - Thursday, May 11. The annual event will run from 3:00 to 7:00pm.

“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Wings of Hope Executive Director Carolyn Ettinger. “It’s an opportunity for cancer patients and care partners to pamper themselves and connect with others who are going through the same experience,” she noted.

Attendees can choose three services from a variety of personal and group sessions. Personal services include massage, hand massage/paraffin dip, and Healing Touch, a nurturing energy therapy that assists in balancing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

Four group sessions will be offered:

Self-Care Massage and Yoga with Iona Holland
3:00pm and 6:00pm

Ilona Holland will combine chair yoga, healing self-massage and aromatherapy on this 40-minute journey through the seven Chakras. Participants will get a mini goodie bag with aromatherapy and their choice of crystals.

Feelings on Canvas with Kimberly Isaac
4:00pm and 5:00pm

Participants will discover the healing benefits that come with every stroke of a paintbrush. Tea and art supplies will be provided.

Music Therapy with Emily Wadhams

Emily Wadhams is a board-certified music therapist and owner of Omaha Music Therapy. This is a guided relaxation experience.
