Definitions
Discrimination: Unfair treatment of a person or group based on certain characteristics.
Harassment: Unwelcome conduct that is based on a protected characteristic. Complaint Procedure
Reporting: Any individual who believes they have been subjected to discrimination, harassment or hateful behavior should report the incident to the executive director.
Investigation: All reports of discrimination, harassment or hateful behavior will be promptly and thoroughly investigated. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible, consistent with the need to conduct an adequate investigation.
Resolution: If a complaint is substantiated, appropriate corrective action will be taken, which may include disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or volunteer services. Individuals engaging in hateful behavior may also be asked to excuse themselves from the premises or activities.
Retaliation Prohibited
Wings of Hope strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports discrimination, harassment or hateful behavior or participates in an investigation. Any form of retaliation will be met with disciplinary action.
