2022 Champions of Hope Fundraiser for Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center Feb. 11

COUNCIL BLUFFS - Are you ready to have fun and raise money for a great cause? Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center will host Champions of Hope…A Culinary Celebration Friday, Feb. 11, from 7:30 to 9:00pm.

This virtual event will include a silent auction, live oral and program auctions, and more. As part of the evening’s festivities, Chef Dan Benigno - owner of Chef Around the Block - will do an online cooking demonstration live from the Wings of Hope Nutrition Nook. Participants will be able to cook alongside Chef Dan from the comfort of their own kitchens, as the ingredient list and necessary utensils will be publicized ahead of time.

To register and pay for the event, visit www.wingsofhope.org/events and follow the instructions. Individual tickets are $50 each and include a $10 auction credit. Those who want to host a group can purchase a Champions Bubble for $500 (10 people). Each Champions Bubble host will be provided with everything needed to cook alongside Chef Dan during the event.

Starting Feb. 4, the public can begin bidding on the silent auction items at http://bidpal.net/wingsofhope2022. They can also browse the package of items that will be auctioned off live during the event.

In conjunction with the fundraiser, two separate raffles are being held:

·      Local quilt maker Karen Krause has created a hand-dyed batique quilt for the organization’s 26th annual quilt raffle. Tickets are $3 per ticket, $5 for 2, $10 for 4, $15 for 6, $20 for 8 and $25 for 10. To purchase tickets, call 712.325.8970.

·      The second raffle is for a $500 VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner) gift card. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online at www.wingsofhope.org/events.

The winner of both raffles will be announced during the event. You do not need to be present to win.

Proceeds from the 2022 Champions of Hope Fundraiser directly benefit cancer patients, survivors and caregivers in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro and southwest Iowa.
