Healing Garden Experiences to Explore Photo Journaling and Intuition
COUNCIL BLUFFS – Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center is launching a series of free group healing experiences designed to help cancer patients cope will all facets of their cancer journey, including survivorship. They will take place in the organization’s Healing Garden.
“The Healing Garden at Wings of Hope is an indoor nature experience,” said Wings of Hope Executive Director Carolyn Ettinger. “We created it to help promote a mind-body-spirit healing space for those on the cancer journey.”
Each experience, listed below, is led by community members who specialize in specific areas. The schedule is as follows:
Healing through Photo Journaling

This series, led by Ettinger, uses photos and journaling to help participants heal. Wings will provide journals, scrap-booking materials and journaling prompts. Please bring photos of yourself.
Intuition and You: Exploring the Past to Create Your Future

Exploring hereditary patterns through the use of the genogram

Ancestral somatic writing guides you into tapping into layered information held in the heart, which is a second brain, and in the belly, which holds dormant memories

Collage building will compassionately explore the roots that weave the web of your existence, support you with “aha” moments and add sustenance to the structure of your innate authentic truth
Kate Jobe, a visionary artist and healer, and Ettinger will lead this series of experiential groups that’s more in depth and revelatory than standard journaling and collage making. The writing and collage building groups incorporate meditative techniques with intentional creativity to help participants expand upon the awareness they gain from genogram patterns class.
