Wings of Hope to Host 2025 Winter Fundraiser Feb. 8
COUNCIL BLUFFS - Batman had Robin. Captain America had Bucky Barnes. Superman had Jimmy Olsen.
Sidekicks play an important role in the world of superheroes, providing support, guidance and a source of hope when things seem dire. Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center sees heroes every day, and its staff strives to be that "sidekick" they can depend on during their cancer journey.
The 2025 theme is Our Heroes Fly with Wings, Not Capes. It’s set for Saturday, Feb. 8, at Queen of Apostles "Gotham Hall" at 3304 4th Ave. in Council Bluffs. The evening will include superhero-themed heavy appetizers and drinks, a hero-themed round of music bingo with prizes, a costume contest, the traditional silent, oral and program auctions, and more. Wings also will be presenting the 2025 Larry Hill Memorial Award and the 2025 Carolyn Ettinger Beacon of Hope Award.
Tickets are $100 per person or $800 per table (seats 8). Proceeds will benefit the 2025 operating budget.
This event is made possible in part by the organization’s 2025 strategic partners - CHI Health Mercy Hospital, Heartland Oncology & Hematology, Hematology & Oncology Consultants, P.C., Methodist Jennie Edmundson Cancer Center and Nebraska Cancer Specialists and its event sponsors - the Scott Family Foundation, Google, Hy-Vee, Availa Bank, Iowa Western, Tek Services, Black Hills Energy, Firespring, Frontier State Bank, Dallas Johnson Greenhouse, Ming Toy Gallery and SBC Event Services.
