Talking about your feelings can be tough, especially when you’re scared, overwhelmed and just don’t need one more thing to do. But we believe that healing from cancer goes beyond medicine, and it begins with talking.
At Wings, we get it. Our licensed mental health practitioner is a breast cancer survivor. Our coaching and counseling staff doesn’t judge. They ask thoughtful questions, listen to what you’re saying and help you process what you’re going through. They help you search for ways to heal mentally, emotionally and spiritually. They understand that you don’t always want to talk to your family or friends because you feel like you’re “burdening” them. They introduce you to others who are in similar situations, and it’s amazing what happens when you talk with one another. They offer coping strategies that range from moderate exercise to meditation to creative classes - you decide what works for you. They’re not only there for you, they’re there for your care partners and family members, because cancer affects everyone in your circle.
Talking and listening is at the heart of what we do. We call it Companion Counseling & Coaching. We meet you wherever you are and listen with a compassionate ear. We support you as you experience distress and ponder new realities. We provide a positive space for you to be you, and in this space is where healing occurs.
