Self-Compassion and You

Featured Speaker: Shawn Garza, Executive Director of Project Pink’d, and a special performance from The American Midwest Ballet Group.

“Remembering the Little Girl Inside Us”
In this uplifting and deeply personal talk, Shawn Garza invites women to rediscover the power of self-compassion through the eyes of their younger selves. Sharing her own journey as a BRCA1 previvor and mother, Shawn explores how grace, courage, and self-kindness can transform the way we see ourselves. Through a touching “Love Note to Little Me” activity, guests will reflect, reconnect, and leave reminded that the brave, beautiful little girl within them still believes they can do anything.

This event will take place in St. Peter’s Church Social Hall: 1 Bluff Street, Council Bluffs, IA.

Groove to tunes from our DJ, grab a sweet treat from the donut and coffee truck, dive into a hands-on community project, and enjoy yard games along the riverfront. Lace up for a 1-mile or 3-mile run/walk and walk for the ones that walk beside us.

Testicle Festival

Get ready to go NUTS for a cause at the first-ever Testicle Festival, happening August 24th from 12 – 5 p.m. at Full Fledged Brewing Co. in Council Bluffs! This bold and ballsy bash is all about raising awareness (and a pint) for men’s cancer support, benefiting Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center. Come for the brews, stay for the bites, yard games, live music, and our unforgettable team challenge that’ll leave you laughing your balls off. With our special “Drink for a Worthy Cause” beer on tap, every sip supports men in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area. It’s not just an event – it’s a movement. Let’s make some noise for the boys!

Sign up for THE CHALLENGE:

Each team of four will be challenged to come up with a witty team name, drink four beers, eat eight testicles, and participate in a fun-filled relay race.  The race will consist of each team member taking their turn at 3 activities: Ridin’ a stick horse, Ropin’ a calf & Ringin’ a horseshoe.  No need to be a rodeo champ, these are all fun activities that anyone will be able to corral.

We encourage teams to race in honor or celebration of someone near & dear to your heart who may have battled cancer.

The winning team will get a $100 gift card to Full Fledged Brewing Company!
