New Discovery Circle Series Begins July 12 at Wings of Hope
COUNCIL BLUFFS – Using touch to connect with the body, mind, heart and spirit is the subject of the next Discovery Circle series at Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center. It will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays beginning July 12.
“The Discovery Circle is a way to learn and practice new skills in a gentle, accepting and supportive group format,” said Wings of Hope Executive Director Carolyn Ettinger. She will facilitate the series with Ann Jones, R.N., a member of the Wings of Hope Board of Directors.
The circles will include opportunities to use touch and embodiment exercises as a tool for healing through self-awareness, mindfulness, connection, self-regulation, finding balance and creative self-acceptance. Attendees will practice:
Activating the relaxation response
Balancing and restoring the flow of energy
Sharing ideas on how to use compassionate touch
Each session runs from 5:30 to 7:00pm. You can attend in person at 427 E. Kanesville Boulevard, Suite 202, in Council Bluffs or online via Zoom. The circles are free and open to people with cancer, their care partners, family, friends and survivors.
